Set in the Street is an ongoing art project by New York-based photographer Justin Bettman, which consists of interior spaces made from second-hand furniture. Once done with their photo shoot, Bettman leaves the set on the street, where passersby can shoot their own pictures and share them via Instagram using hashtag #SetintheStreet.
These sets have been created in NYC, London, Prague, Moscow, and Berlin. In this project, Bettman shows the complex ideas of perspective and perception. When we look at these cropped images shot on the street, we think they are actually interiors and it can be misleading when you only look at small part of the bigger picture.
