Italian contemporary artist Alessandro Gallo is renowned for his anthropomorphic, hybrid sculptures, which consist of human bodies and animal heads. Before he became famous, Gallo learned about clay sculpting from Italian sculptor Adriano Leverone.

In 2005, he started creating 3D figures and the first piece he made was a donkey wearing a suit. His clay sculptures are mostly half-humans, half-animals creatures. They have human bodies but their heads are from animals – horses, birds, donkeys and reptiles.

Though his creations are definitely surreal, they looked realistic that some of the sculptures even have tattoos on them. They are also found in everyday settings like playing the guitar, riding a subway and reading a newspaper.

His bizarre sculptures became widely popular across Europe and Gallo gained over 30k followers on Instagram.
