]]>This time, the artist talks about his favorite piece, a portrait of his biggest hero, Mr. Steve Caballero.
“I’ve made some decent drawings but decided I would put everything I have into this one to make it my best ever,” the artist wrote on Bored Panda. “25 hours into my first attempt, I had to abort. It was…imperfect. I started over at a slower pace and an even higher standard. 145 hours later and here is the finished piece of one of my biggest heroes (and great friend), skateboarding legend Mr. Steve Caballero.”

]]>Powell first started drawing on such alternative surfaces after losing the space where he used to work. “After we were evicted from the warehouse in London, at which point I was painting large scale paintings, I had to work smaller,” he tells It’s Nice That. “I had found an envelope that was sent from the trenches in World War One […] and so it started.”
Though he draws many different subjects, the animals may be our favorites. His tools may be simple but the result is always complex and impressive. You can see his work below.
