Throughout history, we’ve seen many artists make food their main subject. From old masters’ still life paintings to today’s modern forms of art, many have used food as a way to express their creativity, and David Anderson is one of them.

Anderson paints sliced-up fruits and other foods in geometric patterns to create a surreal, vintage effect. His reason for doing it is quite simple. At one point in his life, he ate several foods every day. Today, he wants to pay homage to them through his visual art. “These are foods I’ve been eating on a daily basis for several years, I’m not really sure how long,” Anderson told It’s Nice That.

Andeson studied art at the Watkins College of Art in Nashville, Tennessee. His work has been featured in many exhibitions around the world. Check it out below.
