We got used to seeing embroidery art being dominated by landscapes or geometrical shapes which is why the works of Emmi Khan are so fresh and intriguing. This medical student from Wales turned to her future profession and human anatomy for inspiration.

Khan’s love for human anatomy and embroidery started even before she became a student. Since 2014, she has embroidered hearts, veins, eyeballs, and other different human organs on fabric. However, once she got into med school, her works started becoming more realistic and detailed.

After a few of her works gained significant exposure on social media, Khan decided to focus more on this project. This resulted in big demand for these cool artworks and now sells her embroidered anatomy on Etsy. Who can say that science and art don’t work together well?

Check out some of Khan’s embroideries below.
