Ahhh, pies. Those pieces of heaven filled with all sorts of deliciousness that brings sparkles in your eyes and joy in your gut. Everyone loves them and they are a staple of every family gathering ever, especially during the holidays.

But have you ever seen a pie that looks so damn good that it is almost a sin to eat it? If you haven’t, let us introduce you to Jessica Leigh Clark Bojin. This self-taught baker creates astonishing pies that will make you drool and most certainly leave you with your mouth open. Inspired by pop culture, Jessica’s pies are an adorable mixture of the traditional and the modern. She bakes pies with the face of Freddie Mercury, the adorable little lion king Simba, and of course, Baby Yoda!

We are pretty sure that each and every one of her pies raises a bunch of questions about how she made it, but we are also certain that no one is questioning her talent. We hope some of her mind-blowing creations will inspire you to take a different approach to food decoration and take bold moves when it comes to playing with food!

Happy National Pie Day everyone!! 💕🎉🥧🎉💕 ⠀ Those who have been following along my pie journey these past three years know that one of my big goals has been to prove once and for all that pies are a viable alternative to cake for that coveted front-and-center wedding buffet table spotlight. Folks have been reticent to “go cakeless” even when they love the taste of pie, because they were worried pies were just too flat and unflashy – that pies couldn’t make a proper visual statement in the reception hall. Well! I hope I may convert a few new believers this Pie Day with my first three-tier Wedding Piescraper! It has chocolate silk filling, a pie pastry crust and pie pastry decorative panels, all held together with chocolate around a custom designed stainless steel spool armature (food safe of course!) ⠀⠀ You can watch the full timelapse video of its creation on my site PiesAreAwesome.com and I’m happy to answer any questions about its construction here too. It’s very sturdy and even stood up to my six year old taking bites out of it with his hands behind his back! 😂 Now I’m off to check out everyone else’s fabulous pie celebrations (and to spread the word that #PieIsTheNewCake 😜) 💕🥧💕 ⠀⠀ #nationalpieday #pieday2018 #pieday #piday #piday2018 #chocolatepie #chocolatesilkpie #pieart #piesareawesome #weddingpie #ilovepie #eatmorepie #thekitchn #pierevival #tart #tartart #bhgbaking #pastry #piescraper #pastryartsmag #tastemademedoit #gloobyfood #thrillist #feedfeed @thefeedfeed #eater #cupcakeproject #cakeart

Based in Washington, Lauren Ko is a master in creating pie art. With insatiable thirst for symmetry, beauty and perfection that seems unattainable, Lauren’s creations look like the perfect examples of pie art turned into almost science.

More and more Instagrammers master the art of baking and wear many hats: designer, pastry chef, stylist, photographer, social media manager and fervent defender of each pie whose photo they publish. After the superb geometric pastries of Dinara Kasko, here are some original pies that will inspire you. Published in magazines such as Vogue, O Magazine and Buzzfeed, the geometric and colorful creations of Lauren regularly inspire pastry chefs on Instagram, where she has nearly 250,000 followers.

For her pies, the young autodidact uses different colors, textures and ingredients that we would never have imagined to find in pastries. Now based in Washington, where she opened her own tea room, Lauren Ko is often invited to American TV shows and even tries to reproduce some famous paintings such as this Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night.
