You’ve probably thrown out a pair of shoes before because you thought they were beyond repair, but this video will make you wonder if you could’ve taken them to a cobbler instead. In the video below, published by Trenton & Heath on Youtube, you can watch an incredible process of old shoe restoration.

Trenton and Heath Potter are brothers and business partners in their two companies, Potter & Sons Shoe Artisans and Southern Polished. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, they use Youtube to share videos about shoes, which is their favorite topic.

Watch the video below to see Heath working on an old pair of leather loafers, transforming them into a brand new pair in front of our eyes. It’s really incredible what a talented cobbler can do with a beaten up pair of shoes.

Gwen Murphy’s shoe sculpture series was aptly named “Foot Fetish”. Each pair has faces implemented where the foot should go, making for a surreal, if a bit unsettling effect.

Murphy paints the faces so that each one has a recognizable personality and emotion, which matches its shoe model. Sometimes they look at each other and communicate, other times they’re looking away.

The artist says she likes working with different types of objects she finds and shoes are just one of those. To create her unique pieces, Murphy uses clay and acrylics. She generates the images from surrealist techniques like blind contour or collage.

According to Murphy, she’s interested in the vulnerability of humans and in pathos and humor that arise from this vulnerability. She sees those as complementary ways of exploring the subject of interest. Her goal is to create pieces that are both expressive and surprising.

Her eerie shoes sometimes seem like they have a life of their own. Take a closer look!

Fashion is individual and often it can get difficult to debate what’s in style and what looks good on you.  But just like everything else in the world, we are also allowed to generalize and there are some fashion trends that look straight up ugly.

This fun Instagram account called ‘Crimes Against Shoemanity’ really stands up to its name by catching the biggest crimes ever done on shoes!

If you’re a real Carrie Bradshaw and have a thing for shoes be prepared to cringe at every single post, as this is pretty much the data base of the ugliest shoes ever made.

We are talking asymmetrical shoes here, as well as eccentric, denim shoes, one shoe on top of the other… Ah, you just have to see to believe it!

Some of the shoes are just a parody, but most of them are legit shoes that someone designed without giving it a second thought. But, if you don’t take things too seriously and you are up for good laugh, make sure you follow this account and choose the shoes you would least like to have.
