Iconic ancient, Baroque and Modernist objects of art like Mona Lisa, Van Gogh, and Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring are masterfully merged with high fashion and hipster-ish looks that look not out of place in any contemporary metropolis.

Takaoka also loves to mix scenes from legendary films into his mashups, especially Tarantino pictures such as Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs etc. In the current postmodern world this part ironic, part respectful homages to those icons of the popular culture start to live a life of their own and inspire people to view art from a totally different lens.
