“I create hand twisted wire sculptures inspired by the quirkiness and beauty of nature. Each piece is hand twisted, not heat or solder, with needle-nose pliers and patience. Every piece is unique and the menagerie ranges from the mythical to the mundane. Dragons and unicorns hand out with sparrows and deer,” the artist shared on Bored Panda and added that as far as the embroidery works, she likes creating intricate landscapes and maps, as well as snarky holiday ornaments.

She documents her work on Instagram where her posts images of her creations. We really enjoyed browsing through her Instagram page and we believe that you will enjoy it, too. Follow her for future updates.

Romanian artist Darius Hulea uses iron, stainless steel, copper and brass wires as his tools. In his work he creates three dimensional sculptures that combines elements of both contemporary and classical art. Most of his creations makes recognizable portraits of famous Romanian historical figures.

“I discovered during my second year of college that the great artists of modern history used the principle of drawing in space or drawing the space through different metallic structures,” Hulea shared with My Modern Met. “Some, like Picasso, used recycled materials or, like Calder or David Smith, industrial materials. That moment was the turning point of the sculptures that I am doing now.”

“I hope that people will understand that I do nothing but draw in a new way, in a durable material of the past,” he added. “I can then explore and research, as an artist, mythical, Renaissance, and modern thinking by finding three-dimensional examples that describe us now in a history of the past.”

The border between two and three dimensions fades when you look at the work of the Spanish artist David Moreno. His sculptures are three-dimensional but look like drawings from a distance.

This is partly due to the material that Moreno uses: metal rods and piano wire. He ingeniously builds sculptures that are more like sketches than real buildings. The middle of the image looks sharp, but around the edges the sculptures quickly fade.

David Moreno started by imitating the exterior of a building (or several buildings), but he is increasingly focusing on interiors. His latest works show mysterious doors that are connected to each other through flights of stairs.
