40+ Super Embarrassing Texts Between Parents and Kids

Technology is pretty brilliant, right? Nowadays, we have the power to stream our favorite television shows and movies onto the smallest of screens, we can see people across the world without any trouble, and we’ve even been able to take pictures out in space. Despite all of these advancements, it’s still pretty easy to send awkward texts to the wrong number – and that becomes pretty awkward when you accidentally send them to your kids or your parents.

An intense discussion

We all know what Plan B is. We also all know that you should never accidentally text your mom anything about Plan B – especially when you’re trying to keep it a secret from her. It seems as though this son or daughter didn’t get that memo, though…

An intense discussion

And they also didn’t look at who they were writing the message to before they hit “Send.” The end result is something that we wouldn’t wish upon our worst enemy. We bet that was a pretty tense discussion.

Not my type

There’s nothing worse than your parents knowing the business that goes on between you and the person you like, and there’s also nothing worse than knowing they have seen the text messages between the two of you.

Not my type

Unless your mom steals your phone and reads your texts, there’s very little chance of that happening, right? Well, think again. Sometimes it’s easy to accidentally send a text to the wrong number, and that’s exactly what this person did. It’s a good thing they’re not their mom’s type.

Calling them names

It’s no secret that parents often get pretty fed up with their kids, but it seems as though some moms and dads often create rude little nicknames for their children – and you can probably guess a few of them without us telling you.

Calling them names

When this dad meant to text his wife and ask whether they had picked up the kids – using a very rude word in the process – he didn’t realize that he had actually texted one of his children instead. It’s safe to say that it didn’t go down too well.

What did I just say?

When it comes to technology and texting, parents are sometimes a little off the mark. They often think that everything is possible on their little devices, and they often think that they are going to be inundated with text messages as soon as they turn their phones on.

What did I just say?

This mom obviously thought the same, which is why she messaged her child to let them know that she didn’t want to be contacted in the next hour. She also had to make it doubly clear when they replied with a snarky message back.

Keeping things real

There’s nothing better than receiving a “Good morning” text from the person that you love, is there? While there are some lucky people in this world who receive that text on a regular basis, there are others who have to do without.

Keeping things real

Well, it seems as though this mom didn’t want their son or daughter to go without, so she decided to send them this message from their imaginary boyfriend. We can’t work out whether it’s cute or insulting. We’ll go with both.

All loved up

Although many accidental texts to your parents can uncover dirty secrets and nuggets of information that kids would rather keep to themselves, sometimes they just showcase the love that those kids have in their hearts.

All loved up

Of course, that’s still pretty awkward. Most people say to their dads that they love them with multiple hearts and bear emojis – but that’s exactly what this person did. It seems as though this dad had no option but to roast their child with the same text back, and we don’t blame him.
