The Museum of Modern Art recently posted a video to their Youtube channel that features the actor and comedian Steve Martin and his take on abstract art. “In this episode of “The Way I See It,” actor and comedian Steve Martin looks at paintings by two early pioneers of American abstraction and takes us on a journey of seeing—shape and color transform into mountains, sky, and water,” we read in the video description.
In the video, Martin talks about his interest in abstract art and two particular paintings that hang in the MoMA. He noticed them just because they seem minor compared to everything else in the museum and thought that they must “feel lonely” like that. Since first seeing them, he learned a bit about the artists behind them and is now sharing the story with all of you. Enjoy.
