Artist Creates Unique Paintings by Mixing Acrylics and Watercolors

Haruka Hashiguchi is a Japanese artist who works for a video production company as a production manager and now as an illustrator, as well. The Tokyo-based artist uses mixed media in his artwork and he believes that art can “share emotions that cannot be conveyed in words.”

“Acrylic and watercolor paints are used in combination,” the artist said in an interview for Ballpit. “I like the dramatic expression that can be achieved by combining the blur and blur of the brush. Paints are used as pen colors in pen drawings. I like to draw objects as simple as possible to make the object unique.”

First, he draws sketched ideas on paper, whilst in some cases, it is imported into his iPad and color-designed. The things that inspire him the most are manga and animation, and he has been familiar with these since he was a little boy.
