Canadian Artist Creates Hyperrealistic Portraits of Tigers

31-year-old Canadian self-taught acrylic painter Nick Sider loves tigers, and he has been obsessed with them since he was a little kid. He has always dreamed about becoming an artist, however, it happened only a couple years ago when he quit his job to pursue painting full-time. He loves to say that he “creates life on canvas.”

“My favorite moment while painting is when a subject on my canvas begins to come alive,” he shared to My Modern Met.

Sider is now living and working in New York City and has gained international recognition for his paintings of wild cats, which art pieces you can easily confuse as real-life photographs. Besides animals, the artist paints portraits of other subjects, as well. In 2016 he had his first NYC solo show and has been featured in media worldwide. You can find his work in private galleries all around the world.
