Johannes Baur opened Baur Au Lac in 1844 as an elite inn for nobles and aristocrats who traveled to Zurich, Switzerland, and the five-star establishment has kept a high profile and unshakeable reputation of a place where old world grandeur meets ultimate comfort ever since. It is set in its own private park in the very heart of the affluent city, just a short walk from the world-famous Bahnhofstrasse and the Paradeplatz, and has a magnificent view of Lake Zurich and the Alps.
