Natalie Byrne knows how much strength it takes to pull yourself out of a bad place, and she’s helping other people get it done. Despite facing many dark days of her own, she managed to pour all her positivity into her illustrations, and they’re a source of light and joy for everyone who sees them.
Byrne is a Latina artist, who pursued her love for digital art at Sheffield Hallam University, where she studied graphic design. She’s currently based in London, and we’ve seen her work with many major brands over the years, including Canon, Nike, and Vans, in addition to publishing her own book Period.
Byrne also has an impressive social media following, with almost 50,000 Instagram followers under her belt. She describes herself as her own muse and says that she’s happy that drawing about her own personal discoveries helped her connect with so many people, who felt seen and heard through her art.
“Now I see that the more honest and vulnerable I can be online, it will have that meaning for others. Additionally, my illustration style, which is bright and cute and playful, is a great tool to talk about really important and sometimes quite hard to talk about social issues,” she told Studio 77.
