Photographer Captures the Beauty of a Pink Lake

Kristina Makeeva is a Moscow-based photographer who travels the world and captures its beauty. In her latest project, she visited a beautiful pink lake called Hutt Lagoon. The salt lake, which is located near the town of Gregory in Western Australia, has a red or pink hue due to the presence of the carotenoid-producing algae called Dunaliella salina.

“I dreamed about the pink lake for a long time, and it turned out to be better than in my dreams,” the photographer shared. “Pools with different shades of red, pink, and sometimes yellow and blue. Pink salt on the shore, which glitters like snow – it all looks like abstractionist paintings in reality. Nature and its colors, in this case, did the magic.”
