]]> We all know the amazing opportunities that photo-editing software Photoshop offers. You can manipulate your photo in an astounding number of ways, change almost every aspect of it, and still make it look legit.

Some use this power to fix lighting issues, contrast, and other little flaws that their photo might have, while those like Russian digital artist Stas Novikov use it to create a whole new reality.

Novikov is one of those people who decided to really push the limits of this handy tool. He does this by photoshopping himself to create all sorts of strange and surreal scenes.

In one photo, you can see Novikov placing his head on the table and carving it like a Halloween pumpkin. In the other, he is sleeping in a huge sandpit while a bunch of heavy machines is trying to bury him.

While these somewhat disturbing photo-editing works make up for most of Novikov’s artistic portfolio, he also occasionally engages in some more down-to-earth edits as well.

Whether you like his over-the-top edits or not, we can all agree that Novikov’s works are true works of art. So let’s check out more of them below.

]]> You might have heard about Sirio Berati, an Albanian visual artist based in Montreal, Canada. In one of his project he created photo manipulations inspired by Game of Thrones. This time, he opted for Photoshop manipulations inspired by the early renaissance art.

“I Tried to source the same moody/earthly colors that characterized the movement,” Berati shared on Bored Panda. “Most of them have a philosophical narratives. It took me 2 months to establish the concept and to bring it to life.”

Berati explored and worked with many different realms of art, fields and mediums, although his work mainly focuses on photography and film making.

“Starting from experimenting with different mediums such as sculpture, oil paintings, digital photography and video production, my work is associated with an emotional narrative while I tackle the notion of identity,” he added. “My aim as an artist is to explore my ideas through different stages of self-development and show the process that one’s identity undergoes in order for adapting to the world.”

This manipulation aims to question Hell and how it might differently be portrayed. Here, Eve (the model) is supposed to be in Hell, but because hell might be heaven to sinners, the surroundings feels so to her as well. Here hell is a deceptions. It takes the shape of what you want it to be or feel. It generally looks like heaven, but the ground in flames beneath Eve suggest that it is not, and the setting in which she is placed is actually hell. Hell is 'disguised' as heavens trapping sinners into believing they rest there. #artoftones
