Growing up in a traditional Muslim family, Nadyia was married by the age of 19 and had three children by 27. She loved her family and her life, but she looked for new avenues to express herself.
Then The Great British Bakeoff came along and Nadiya was a natural talent in the kitchen, so she decided to take a chance and try out for the 2015 season. Not only was she accepted, but she got all the way to the top and won in the season’s finale!
Nadiya’s phenomenal success in the show launched her to stardom in Britain. She’s now a world-famous chef and has hosted several shows, written a book, and appeared as a guest on countless talk shows.
