Is there an animated television show, or any TV show for that matter, that’s as iconic and as relevant as The Simpsons?

First airing in 1989, The Simpsons has managed to stay relevant over time. In fact, it’s been so relevant that the show’s creator, Matt Groening, has been referred to as a time traveler after the show has continuously and successfully predicted some of the things that have happened or are still currently happening in the world today.

The Simpsons is currently the longest-running American sitcom and scripted primetime television series in history. Over the years, the show has inspired many fans to do some pretty outrageous stuff.

Katrin von Niederhäusern and her friend Janine decided to recreate Homer’s Food Tour from the episode, “Lisa Gets the Blues,” which aired back in 2018 for the show’s 29th season. Although the episode mostly revolved around Lisa, it also featured Homer going on an absolute food binge as he discovers all of the good food that the city of New Orleans has to offer.

Be sure to scroll down below to see these women try to recreate, in hilarious fashion, what happened during Homer’s food tour.

Katrin von Niederhäusern and her friend Janine, perhaps Sweden’s biggest The Simpsons fans, traveled to New Orleans to recreate the rich culinary montage from the episode called Lisa Gets the Blues.

“We just love both so much: New Orleans and The Simpsons,” von Niederhäusern told Bored Panda. “So when in this one episode, both things got combined, we got so excited, we decided to make a homage to it. After googling, we found out that those 54 restaurants exist in real life. And what we admire so much is how accurately detailed the makers of The Simpsons are. Everything looks just like it. So impressive.”

Although, they have faced a lot of challenges, like the restaurant being closed on Sundays or a specific dish not being on the menu anymore, the two still managed to convince the owners to let them film the video montage.

“But the biggest challenge was to imitate Homer,” she added. “A man with great charm but not so great manners. We had to lie on the table, sit on the floors, eat with fingers, eat with the whole hand, lick the plates, and put shrimps and a ton of fries in our mouth. Everything under the constant observation of the other – very disturbed – restaurant guests.”

Gabriela Martinez is an artist that specializes in making embroideries. She has made embroideries features everyone’s favorite yellow family since 2015.

Martinez takes her time when creating her embroidered handmade scenes, making sure each one is done to absolute perfection. Of late she has also been using felt to give them a beautiful background color that matches perfectly with the beautiful color palette that The Simpsons has to offer.

She loves working with a The Simpsons’ color palette because it is bold and vibrant.

“It takes me between 10-30 hours to make each of these embroideries but they’re all fun to make,” the artist shared. Whenever she make them, she recalls the scenes from her favorite cartoon.

Even though creating a piece takes a lot of time, she doesn’t mind because at the end of it all, the final work is awesome.
