Our pets have come a long way from being wild animals to becoming the domesticated fur balls they are today. Remember that cats are cousins with lions? Remember that dogs are close relatives of the wolfs? Well, putting a pug next to a mountain wolf really puts things in perspective. While the relationship between human and dog goes back for centuries, what started off as a practical relationship, and developed into a loving, millennia-old friendship, has most recently turned into a strange exercise for breeders over the last couple of centuries. That’s how we get from wolves to pugs, although the creator of the perfect comic for pet lovers, Pet Foolery, guesses that pugs are a cross between wolves and chubby trolls.
Ben Hed, the artist, creates adorable and funny comics that explore the strange behavior of pets today. He often makes funny scenarios about the evolutionary reason for some weird pet habits. He is also the creator of Pixie and Brutus, an odd couple made up of a huge German Shephard and a tiny kitten that always gets her way.
