These Larger-Than-Life Paper Flowers Will Brighten Your Day

For paper artists, all it takes to make an amazing piece of art is a pair of scissors and some paper. And Danish paper artist, Marianne Eriksen-Scott Hansen, knows best. For years, she’s been making extraordinary paper flowers, adding 50 to 60 layers of papers to each of her pieces and cutting through delicate details.

Graduating from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1995,
Eriksen-Scott Hansen has since designed for brands like Levi Strauss and Georg Jensen.

Her “paper couture” pieces have grabbed the world’s attention, and other brands were quick to jump on board. In addition to her work with industrial products, her experimental and artistic approach to design has led to international recognition through her spectacular hand cut accessories. These were adorned by Björk and Steven Tyler among others.

But really, all it takes to recognize her gift is to scroll through her Instagram page.
