This Hip Blog Will Inspire You to Adopt a Zero Waste Lifestyle

It all started in 2012, when Environmental Studies major Lauren Singer noticed a fellow classmate would bring his lunch in a single-use plastic bag, a disposable water bottle, and a plastic takeout container.

“I would sit there and think: we are supposed to be the future of this planet and here we are with our trash, messing it up,” writes Singer. That was the moment she decided to embark on her Zero Waste journey.

Her inspiring journey is documented in her tongue-in-cheek blog Trash is for Tossers. To Singer, Zero Waste means that she does not produce any garbage whatsoever. “No sending anything to landfill, no throwing anything in a trash can, nothing. However, I do recycle and I do compost,” she explains.

And according to this NYC clean-living guru, her lifestyle can be easily adopted, being simple, cost-effective, and actually fun. You can follow her tips and tricks on her different social media platforms.

Prepare to be inspired!
