This is the Largest Bird Sculpture in The World

When you visit Chadayamangalam village in Kollam district, Kerala, India, you will see the world’s largest bird sculpture with rich history.

The gigantic sculpture is dedicated to the Hindu epic Ramayana. It tells a story about a giant eagle of the Ramayana who fell while fighting against Ravana, to save a Hindu goddess Sita. The local residents have known the story for many years and now it has been brought to life in the grandest way possible.

“It is a powerful story with a fascinating character and has driven my imagination all these years,” sculptor Rajiv Anchal said, who spent 10 years bringing the legend to life.

The Jatayu sculpture stretches 200 feet from tail feathers to head and was built on top of the 1,000 feet-high Jatayupara towers. It was opened to the public in March 2018 and today, it became one of the famous tourist destinations in India.
