Illustrator, letterer, and author, Ilana Griffo, shares inspiring messages on her Instagram page, written in bold and vibrant typography. Describing herself as an artist “with a crush on handmade type, playful patterns, and helping others pursue their creative passion,” she encourages others to get organized and achieve their dreams.
“I always knew I wanted to be in a creative career,” she admitted in an interview with Freelance Wisdom. “I came from a line of strong creative women, and that was a huge influence. When I took my first design class, I was hooked! While I was in school, I took on any side project I could to get experience, and eventually, those side projects became more demanding than my full time job.”
Now she works as a designer and illustrator in Upstate New York, and teaches online courses and workshops. “I do a lot of things, but turns out, only a few of them well,” she writes on her website. “Lettering, illustration, design work, eating pizza, cheering on bike racers, and taste-testing chocolate. I love working on playful, visually tasteful and purposeful design projects. I have a love for delicious design and I get overly excited when brainstorming with my clients about projects.”
She’s also written a book, cleverly titled Mind Your Business which aims at entrepreneurs who want to turn their creative passions into money-makers.
