Would You Rock a Paper Dress to Your Wedding?

Artistic duo Asya and Dmitriy Kosin combine paper art with haute couture, taking both paper sculpting and fashion to the next level. Using plain white sheets of paper, they create delicate accessories and dress wear – anything from wigs and masks to wearable wedding dresses (at least when it isn’t raining).

“The paper allows for implementing quick and easy ideas that we imagine,” the Russian duo told Wowcracy. “As far, we work mostly with wigs and costumes, it’s hard to imagine what other material could go so well.” The material also plays with light and shadow, allowing to highlight its unique feature and form.

The versatile white paper is used not only as a tool but also as a concept, which expresses the history behind each creation. Venetian, Baroque, and Art Nouveau aesthetics are easily recognized throughout their paper designs. “Textiles or other similar material would look too literal,” say the artists. “Our task is to ignore the literal reading of the suit as the practical thing and create an artistic thing.”

But would you dare wear these paper outfits?
