Specialized accounts emerge every day on Instagram, giving rise to totally improbable curations.
Tastes and colors differ so much from one person to another that the passions of others can sometimes seem absurd to us. Slightly obsessive Instagram accounts compile for example photos of clothing labels or seats in the public transit. An account specializing in toilet paper currently caught our attention, and it seems to exceed in its colorful weirdness.
@toiletpapersmagazine lists images of rolls of toilet paper, most of the time without real-life models. We discover the Donald Trump roll, the rainbow roll dotted with vermicelli or even colored versions in various shades. Also, we can admire toilet paper arty patterns or even ones branded by Dior. This is a quite specific curation that has attracted more than 6,000 subscribers to date.
The name of the account refers to the actual Toilet Paper Magazine, a project led by Italian artists Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, a publication with a very visual flair, but also a brand that sells many derivative products – skates, jewelry, books, etc. The Instagram account simply has fun by literally taking the name of the project of the two artists by making an account 100% dedicated to the toilet rolls.
