Beautiful Watercolor Studies of Landscapes By Jowita Marczuk

Jowita Marczuk is an artist from Heidelberg, Germany, who works as an architect by day, but all of her free time she dedicates to creating breathtaking sketchbooks filled with watercolor illustrations.

Marczuk’s Instagram is like her diary in which she shows her careful observations of the world, more specifically nature, and landscapes. Each page of her sketchbook is filled with a few small watercolor illustrations, most of which are inspired by her hikes in the countryside.

“What I love about watercolor is the transparency, the way it behaves on the paper, and how it spreads and flows. I’m enjoying the process,” the artist says. “Discovering how color mixes behave, how they turn out on paper, and what kind of feelings they can evoke.”

Her notes and observations on light, color, composition, and contrast are all written next to illustrations and together they complete Marczuk’s careful studies. In the end, the artist photographs her artwork with paints and brushes and shares it with her audience on Instagram, where she has nearly 28 thousand followers.
