When you’re an artist, anything can be your canvas. For Elisa Sheehan, it’s eggshells.

Sheehan uses the ancient art of Kintsugi, which was used to repair cracked pottery with gold. Depending on the viewpoint, it’s sometimes impossible to see that she’s actually working with eggshells. According to the artist, this series represents a celebration of imperfection.

With the beautiful sunshine yesterday, I had to make a few little magenta sunprint eggs! ☀️ 💕 And mint green has been calling me as of late. You can never go wrong with a lil mint and gold in my opinion. I really went down a rabbit hole with the eggs this round. It’s time to STOP now and complete what I have or else I fear I’ll never stop. Its just so fun and rewarding creating a little world inside each eggshell. The whole process is so intriguing to me from plain shell to framed art.
