“Osgemeos,” a Portuguese word meaning “the twins”, is the name of a prolific street art duo that has been beautifying our urban landscape since the late ‘80s, when identical twins Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo began developing their unique style that defies categorization to this very day. The Brazilian pair have used the streets of many cities in the world to showcase their fantasy world full of surreal characters and mesmerizing details and exhibited their works in multiple renowned art galleries. The mystical quality of their art is enhanced by a smart balance of bright colors and intricate patterns, which they create with an old-school array of tools such as sticks and brushes.
The brothers often joke that they have always worked together and shared everything, even in their mother’s womb, so it’s only natural that their combined talents make up for seamless continuity in their expression. They never do anything twice – instead, they’re always experimenting with new ideas and surfaces. Their goal is to build an elusive universe that can be absorbed with more than one sense, combining sound, light, paintings, videos and performances to create a unified effect on the viewer.
