Illustrator and designer Jose Arias lives in Lima, Peru. His latest work includes a collection of fluffy monsters in the shape of alphabet letters. Their smirking faces are the best part; you can easily think they’re cartoon characters.
The monsters’ bodies naturally form letters and their faces give them character. They are the artist’s answer to the 36 Days of Type Challenge, “a yearly open call inviting designers, illustrators, and visual artists to share their view on the letters and numbers from our alphabet,” as we read on Instagram.
Check out his Instagram to see all the monsters and Arias’ other work. You’ll see why the artist turned letters into monsters, monsters are kind of his thing. Scroll down for some of them.
