Irina Blok Draws Amusing and Relatable Charts About Everyday Life

Most of us think of charts as a way to present serious information and data in a graphic form. But the works of designer Irina Blok show that this doesn’t always have to be the case.

Blok works in a big tech company, so she encounters all types of charts all the time. And sometimes, the experience is so overwhelming that she finds herself thinking about charts even when she’s not at work.

Deciding to make the best of a bad situation, Blok started illustrating Venn diagrams and various charts in her spare time. But her works were less on the serious side and instead dealt with everyday life in a relatable and funny way.

“It turns out that making a chart is a quick and effective way to communicate absolutely any concept, from dating to procrastination,” she explained in a recent interview.

Blok found the series quite enjoyable and continued doing these illustrations after receiving positive reactions on social media. According to her, the charts have endless possibilities as almost anything, from feelings to time, can be presented in the form of a chart.
