Kawthar BuMetea is a recent Web Media graduate and a stop-motion animation artist with one of the most popular Instagram pages in her field. Her work is followed by over 1.2 million people, despite the fact that she only posts new stuff a few times per month.
BuMetea received a Bachelor degree in Web Media at Bahrain Polytechnic. During her studies, she worked hard to position herself as a proactive, self-motivated person which led her to many big clients after she got a degree and devoted 100% of her time to her work.
BuMetea prefers paper and pen over a digital canvas and likes to play with unexpected elements, such as makeup, flowers, and medical equipment. Her pop culture villain makeovers are especially popular, just like her stop-motion makeup looks.
She has always loved digital art but nowadays prefers using paper. “There is something magical when you see an animation on paper, rather than seeing it on a screen,” the artist told Kuwait Times. “I also love to mix real-life objects with animated sketches. I love the surprise factor, in which the viewer doesn’t expect what will happen next.”
