These Enchanted Paintings Capture Light Reflecting on Snow

Conrad Jon Godly paints thick impasto strokes which form mountain ranges and snow-capped peaks in icy blue, black and white. This way he attempts to capture the reflection of light on snow.

This talented artist uses textured formations with feathered edges that mimic the wind’s high altitude. This makes his painting look extra realistic.

His work is a combination of hyperreal and abstract art. Looking closely, it appears like blunt gestures, but from a distance, the image of a mountain is formed.

Godly was born in Davos, Switzerland, and his environment contributed to his art. His surroundings had a huge impact on him personally and artistically.

Initially, Godly was a photographer and he learned to harness light during this period. He uses this knowledge to bring his large sized canvases to life. See some of his amazing work below.
