This Artist Overcame Depression by Blackboarding

Cosmin Mihai Moraru, who described himself as a blackboard artist, shared his story about conquering depression by making some new kind of art.

His journey began three years ago when he was in a very dark zone of his life, he saw a girl working at the coffee shop trying to draw a promotion of that day with some white chalk on a blackboard. Thinking he has a background in art school and has work experience in an art shop before, he offered his help to do the drawing with nothing in return. It was the first blackboard he has ever drawn.

After making few projects in his hometown, Cluj-Napoca, România, and other cities, he eventually got his big break in September 2016 at Berlin Germany, his first drawing (signed with his name) outside the country. Since then, he traveled around Europe as a work & travel artist, creating beautiful artworks on a blackboard.
