Ruiz was not satisfied with how little real women were represented in the media, so she started drawing the world that she wants—confident people, completely aware of their importance in the world. Her inspiration comes from her home city of Buenos Aires. “The lights at night, the music—I like to represent women living these scenes,” Brown Paper Bag quotes her.
