Artist Captures What It’s Like to Experience Poor Eyesight

Having good eyesight is something we tend to take for granted, but with all of the technology, screens, and bad nutrition, our eyes get weaker and weaker every generation. One of the most common vision-connected problems is myopia. Myopia, or short-sightedness, occurs when objects appear blurry.

That’s the inspiration behind the work of the young artist Philip Barlow.  Using oil paints, he managed to draw everyday scenes from life, but he puts himself in the shoes of the other side, using the perspective of short-sighted people who forgot their glasses at home.

If you want to visit Philip’s show but you’re busy or live on another continent, don’t be concerned – we have Instagram and it offers limitless opportunities! On his profile, you can find every single picture he ever made and from the comfort of your own home, you can play the “I see it, I don’t see it” game.

Philip even posts videos explaining the process of his art, how his ideas came to be, the execution, and the final result.
