Artist Paints Hyperrealistic Texas Skies and Landscapes

Most landscape artists imagine their artworks without using any particular landscape as inspiration. This Texas-based artist creates hyperrealistic paintings of landscape and skies, but he uses the Texas landscape as an inspiration.

Layne Johnson has been a professional artist all his life and he is based in the woodlands of East Texas. This location gives him the perfect spot to paint landscapes.

Johnson is also an art instructor with lots of instructional videos for artists just like himself.

He finds his inspiration from the landscape in his hometown, Texas. The things that he hopes to highlight include the large and stormy skies in Texas, the way the city lights play on the trees as well as the rocky terrains. The lazy rivers, the romantic sunsets and sunrises as well as the streams and creeks are some things that inspire him.
