]]>Leib has gained significant attention on social media in recent years thanks to her Pâtisserie series, in which she re-creates some of the most delicious desserts as glass sculptures. Her works are so exceptional that the only way you can be sure they are made out of glass is to believe the artist or touch them.
Lieb’s Pâtisserie series includes two collections of desserts: French and American. In the French collection, she recreated desserts like Creme de Cacao, Entremet la citron vert, and Chocolat noix de coco.
The American collection consists of frozen yogurt, popsicles, pecan pie, caramel apples, and more.
According to Lieb, she began making glass desserts due to her dietary restrictions that prevent her from indulging in most of them.
“This body of work started as a therapeutic exercise in deconstruction and a re-training of the mind to look at dessert as form rather than food,” she explains on her website. “It soon became a technical riddle, and I became a food taxidermist of French pastries.”

]]>This Tokyo, Japan-based artist manages to capture all sorts of wholesome moments onto a single leaf. Most of the time, Riane uses the leaves that fall from the tree as part of its life cycle, saving them from being crushed and allowing them to continue their existence as a piece of art.
According to Riane, her leaf art allows her to express “her unique sensibility and worldview” while focusing her creative efforts “on the beauty of people and nature, the activities of animals and children, and the sounds of children interacting.”
Riane studied drawing at Shinjuku Art Institute but ended up putting her art career on pause to work for a company based in a different field. However, that love for art never veined, and she ended up returning to it thanks to the encouragement of her kids.
After a while, Riane started sharing her works on Instagram and quickly amassed a significant following on social media. She also organized several exhibits of her leaf art in Tokyo and started offering classes for those who wanted to try out leaf art.

]]>What’s even more impressive is that they look very realistic, even matching the real-life size ones. Big or small, all kinds of insects are a part of his growing portfolio. The artist starts by creating the skeleton and adds the details with translucent craft paper. The result is incredible, looking like real wings that reflect light.
Saitoh doesn’t exactly try to get every detail perfect: “Since we are not making specimens or replicas, we prioritize the impression, characteristics, and sensation of appearance rather than rigorously measuring the dimensions and creating proportions accurately,” his website reads.
He enjoys leaving some room for imagination, so that the people seeing his art can fill the gaps themselves. He also believes that “it does not make much sense to create details that cannot be discerned by the human eye,” since his goal is for people to see his work in person.

]]>Mensa sees things around him very differently than most people. Where someone sees an everyday item, this talented artist notices an object that can serve as a complementary piece to his drawing. This includes using mushroom as a champagne cork, pasta noodles as a bird nest, and zucchini as a zeppelin.
In an interview with HuffPost, Mensa revealed that he believes inspiration is all around, and people only need to recognize it. He also shared that he had a different perspective on things ever since he started drawing as a seven-year-old.
“I’ve always liked to make my own rules, and I didn’t like being told what I should or shouldn’t draw,” he shared.
This mindset worked out quite well for Mensa, considering his unusual works became quite popular on social media. He has more than 90K followers on Instagram, while he also caught the attention of several high-profile brands who started using his artwork in their campaigns.

]]>There are many AI-powered architectural series on the internet these days. But the one that captured our attention the most is Synthetic Architecture. According to its creators, the goal of the series is to explore new territories “for architectural theory and practice” through the use of the AI program Midjourney.
The works in this series cover all sorts of different constructions, ranging from homes and apartment buildings to malls and stadiums. They also seem to be based in their basic elements on various established styles, but those existing solutions are pushed to extremes, at least from a traditional point of view.
Synthetic Architecture aims to give us a better image of how the world around us will look once the next architectural revolution starts. And considering the influence of AI on design recently, this image, no matter how outlandish it might look, could be quite on point.

]]>Experimenting with a Stable Diffusion text-to-image AI model, Vorbach decided to fake some photos of his dog wearing tiny hats. The photos were so realistic that he figured why not use it to fake human photos, namely a profile photo of himself.
After trying out several methods with Stable Diffusion, Vorbach managed to create, as he called it, a “Ryan Gosling person.” The AI would come up with a fake photo of a person that looks a lot like him using the combination of Vorbach’s photos and those that belonged to actors Macaulay Culkin and Ryan Gosling –celebrities that people told him he looked like.
Vorbach was impressed with the result and decided to share one of the photos on his Instagram. “Easily the best picture I’ve taken in years,” he captioned it.
The photo got him positive reactions from his friends and family, so he decided to take his project to another level. He generated a series of photos that showed him at a Halloween party, meeting up with friends in Los Angeles, and getting a new car.
And everyone bought it despite the fact that he was at his parents’ house in upstate New York the entire time. No one doubted anything, even when he posted a fake with Gosling.
Despite his fake life scheme working as a charm, Vorbach ended up realizing this was just too much work. He ended up coming clean to his friends and making a video about the whole experience.
“When I started this project it was for fun, but it is a lot of work sifting through thousands of images all day and all night staring at a machine’s idea of your face until you don’t even know what you look like anymore,” he explained in the video.

]]>Ito is the owner of a store in Tosu, Japan, which specializes in watches and eyewear. After he finishes working with clients and repairing watches, Ito proceeds to focus on his hobby: making metal animal sculptures.
In his line of business, Ito often ends up with all sorts of spare parts that are headed to the trash can. So figuring there must be a way to still make them useful, this talented watchmaker started combining them to craft figurines of insects, reptiles, dogs, cats, and all sorts of other animals.
Being accustomed to working with small pieces, Ito has no trouble recreating the animals with extreme accuracy. Sometimes this requires using hundred individual pieces, but the effort surely pays off when you look at the finished product.
At first, Ito only displayed the sculptures in his shop as decoration and a way to intrigue the customers. However, after receiving countless positive reactions, he is now sharing his works on Instagram, allowing the internet to enjoy these impressive creations. Check out more of them below.
