]]>“When I first saw this rock it looked like a perfect place for a great white,” revealed Swift to Bored Panda, who painted the shark in March 2015. “It’s truly amazing how mother-nature can carve out such a perfect shape.” His spray paint creation has become an attraction landmark for travelers.
Swift transformed the big rock in South Goa in India into a jaw inspired shark head and it’s quite terrifying to look at.
The graffiti artist shared a photo of his creation on Instagram and said it was “the hardest thing I’ve ever painted. I was literally beat up by the waves and rising tide and forced to stop before it was finished. I could have done better, but between the blowing sand and wind, splashing waves, burning hot sun and the fact I’ve never painted a shark before or painted on a 3 dimensional surface like a rock…. I think it turned out OK. When I first saw this rock it looked like a perfect place for a great white. Hopefully it doesn’t scare the crap out of people! This was inspired by the movie posters from Jaws…. A movie that scared the crap out of me when I was a kid!”

]]>Trier’s artistic influences include a wide range of artists past and present; from Susan Rothenberg and Cecily Brown to Audrey Kawasaki and Erik Jones, and of course, Vincent van Gogh. Working tirelessly from her home studio where she lives with her son Andrew, she is constantly striving to discover new avenues with which to convey her artistic vision.
Trier cleverly paints using van Gogh’s swirling Starry Night Style which is her signature style. While she continues to analyze this world famous work of art for inspiration, she has been using her insights to recreate more pups.
Her Starry Night Dogs series imagines a world in which our canine friends sat for van Gogh. Much like her previous works, each portrait features the familiar Starry Night sky rendered in the thick brushstrokes characteristic of post-impressionism.

]]>“My underwater collection is inspired by exploring the sensations of peacefulness and calmness, combined with the energy from the movement of the waves you feel when submerged,” Emrich says.
Emrich describes her work as “an Expressionistic style that straddles both abstraction and figuration.” Inspired by the work of Expressionism pioneers such as Van Gogh, her underwater paintings are full of abundance of energetic brush strokes in a vibrant color palette. These layers of paint echo the fluid nature of water itself, capturing the sparkling light and ripples that reflect from the surface and illuminate the model’s skin.
Emrich reveals, “Indeed, being in water is one of most explicit examples one can imagine of ‘being in the moment.’ Time stands still, and once and for all the past and future disappears. Zen-like, one is in the here and now.”
