The post Adorable Pup Princess Poppy Finds Viral Fame With Her Bedtime Routine appeared first on MobiSpirit.
]]>Poppy was adopted by her owner Vanessa Nelson in 2018, and she became her loyal companion in the years to come. Nelson describes her as her best friend and her “soul dog”, and her unconditional love is one of the reasons why she decided to spoil Poppy and give her everything she’s ever wanted.
Nelson enjoyed Poppy’s quirky antics so much that she decided to share her adventures on social media. The viral “bedtime routine” videos she’s now known for first started as a joke, when Nelson put an extra sleep mask on her furry friend and decided to keep going after seeing how much Poppy enjoyed it.
Three years later, Poppy has a very strict nighttime routine, which involves wearing a mask, being tucked in under the covers, and going to bed around 7:30 to 8 p.m.
“I think she’s particular about her routine because she’s a boxer and they have such needy personalities, and also because I spoiled her so now she’s used to the good life and doesn’t wanna go back! I do it for her every night, and if I’m away, she will stay with grandma and grandpa, who will do her bedtime ritual for her,” Nelson told People.

]]>Brooks has been passionate about art since her childhood years, but it took some time before she found her true calling. She tried using other natural materials as a canvas, including feathers, stones, and seashells, but something clicked when she started experimenting with dried leaves.
“Working with real leaves feels like collaborating with the forest itself… I’m enamored by the idea of taking what would otherwise decay and make it timeless – taking stories, memories, and precious places and immortalizing them on a canvas grown from the very soil of that moment,” she wrote on her official website.
After deciding to quit her job to pursue art full-time, Brooks poured her soul into the 100 Painted Leaves Collection, painting a new leaf each day. She’s always looking for leaves with a broad, smooth surface that will let her paintings shine. Each of her tiny paintings requires a lot of time and patience because she chose to work with an incredibly delicate and fragile canvas, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

]]>Poppy was born in early December and it didn’t take her long to become the biggest star of Metro Richmond Zoo in Richmond, Virginia. According to the zoo director Jim Andelin, more than 116,000 votes from 165 countries were cast in the pool to choose her name, and Poppy managed to narrowly beat Hammie Mae.
“It was close. We even thought that maybe we should combine the names and call her Poppy Mae. But we decided that we’ll let the votes stand as they may, and we were glad that the winner won not only the total vote, but also won the in-person vote here at the zoo, as well as Virginia and the U.S,” Andelin told Today.
Poppy’s mom Iris and sisters Violet and Petunia have also been named after flowers. They were moved to other zoos after growing up in an attempt to continue contributing to the conservation of their species. Pygmy hippopotamus are native to West Africa, and less than 2,500 mature individuals remain in the wild, which makes Poppy’s birth a true miracle.

]]>Romanowska is a ceramic artist from Wisconsin, whose quirky masks attracted over 100,000 Instagram followers to her Instagram page. She started working with clay because it reminded her of her childhood years of playing in the dirt and letting her imagination run wild, and she couldn’t imagine using any other material in her art.
“Clay moves with the maker. It’s alive and it has a spirit of its own. It’s a constant dance that demands discipline… Once the piece comes out of the bisque fire, I can no longer change its structure. I have to accept it, nurture it, and decorate it one color and texture at a time,” she told Colossal
Romanowska’s ceramic pieces take the shape of anthropomorphic masks, and her main goal is to create pieces that stick with you and really make you think. Pottery artists who specialize in masks aren’t easy to find, but she doesn’t see anything unusual in her decision to put them front and center because masks have been around since the beginning of time, chronicling cultural and historical traditions over the centuries.

]]>Birch is an artist from Salt Lake City, Utah, who’s been passionate about art since childhood and decided to pursue it more seriously during her time at the University of Utah. She came there with the goal of studying elementary education but eventually decided to change her major to painting and drawing.
Many of Birch’s paintings are inspired by food, and that’s not a coincidence. She’s a huge believer that beauty can be found in the most mundane of things, and food just happens to fall under that category.
“I’m one of those people who find beauty pretty much everywhere she looks, so it’s kind of a no-brainer that I often find myself painting everyday objects… These are the objects that surround us, and we often don’t realize how much significance they have in our lives,” she told Strathmore Artist.
Birch’s paintings helped her attract quite a following on social media, with over 250,000 followers on Instagram alone. She also worked with many major brands over the years and contributed to several popular movies and TV shows, including Glee and Transparent.

He took a selfie with one of the local dogs while delivering parcels, and the photo quickly blew up on social media. After seeing how much people enjoyed it, Hardesty decided to keep taking more photos, and the dog owners didn’t seem to mind it one bit – and neither did his bosses.
“I’ve always tried to be very humble about it because I understand the attention it brings and I’ve always been a hard-working guy so management has never had any problems with it as long as I get the work done,” he told Bored Panda.
Hardesty met many animals on the job, from pigs to chickens, but dogs remain his favorites, especially rescues because he has huge respect for people who give dogs a second chance.

]]>Pálsdóttir’s paintings mostly feature close-up presentations of faces, which are often framed by botanical elements. According to the artist, this serves to explore the “historical context” that early humans couldn’t tell apart the colors green and blue because finding blue was a rare occurrence in nature.
While creating her Cobalt Blue oil portraits, Pálsdóttir employs an approach that is similar to collage art. This gives her pieces depth and makes them more life-like.
“My paintings are derived from digitally dissected images. I apply oil paint to the surface in consecutive layers to transfer the abstracted reference information into iconic female forms,” Pálsdóttir shares about her creative process. “The accrued layers leave visible traces of the process and create a physical depth in the portrait. The organic properties of the oil paint permeate the rigid digital process.”
Pálsdóttir was born and raised in Reykjavík, Iceland, but is currently living and working in New York City. Her works have been exhibited in solo exhibitions in her native country and in a number of group exhibitions in the United States. You can check out more of them by scrolling below.
