Body Artist Alexa Meade’s Creates Delicate, Living Masterpieces

When you first step into the Alexa Meade’s world, you will be deceived into believing she’s a classic painter who consistently produces extraordinary museum-worthy pieces. But if you take a second, closer glance at her work, you’ll discover that this immensely talented artist creates living work in the form of stunning body art!

26-year-old Meade has already made a name for herself in the art community by working on famous projects such as Ariana Grande’s “God Is A Women” video. Her work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., Postmasters Gallery in New York City, Galerie Ivo Kamm in Zürich and the Saatchi Gallery in London. She is the master of making 3D space look like a 2D painting, transforming human bodies into timeless works of art, perfectly integrated within a brightly painted, dramatic background.

Surprisingly, she did not study painting, but politics, and began her career as an intern for the 2008 Obama campaign but quickly realized she was much more into art. She rarely sketches or prepares beforehand and doesn’t paint on canvas – in fact, she’s painted on nontraditional surfaces since her beginning as a visual artist. Ready to have your mind blown?
