]]>What’s even more impressive is that they look very realistic, even matching the real-life size ones. Big or small, all kinds of insects are a part of his growing portfolio. The artist starts by creating the skeleton and adds the details with translucent craft paper. The result is incredible, looking like real wings that reflect light.
Saitoh doesn’t exactly try to get every detail perfect: “Since we are not making specimens or replicas, we prioritize the impression, characteristics, and sensation of appearance rather than rigorously measuring the dimensions and creating proportions accurately,” his website reads.
He enjoys leaving some room for imagination, so that the people seeing his art can fill the gaps themselves. He also believes that “it does not make much sense to create details that cannot be discerned by the human eye,” since his goal is for people to see his work in person.

]]>Yamamoto ventured into felting after receiving a felting kit as a gift from a friend. Being a big cat lover, she decided to make the felines the primary subject of her works. She liked the activity so much that she started using all her free time to create felted cats.
When Yamamoto first ventured into felting, the practice wasn’t as popular as it is today. As a result, she was forced to learn everything about felting on her own, going through a lot of trial and error before mastering the necessary techniques.
(@yumizcats)Nowadays, Yamamoto is an expert in felting, and the felted cats she regularly shares on her Instagram page show it. They look like real felines frozen in time while they are snoozing, chasing butterflies, or stretching after a long nap.
Yamamoto also enjoys sharing her knowledge with others, providing videos with felting tips on her Instagram. She is currently working on opening an online school to make felting courses available to everyone.

]]>Andraka’s illustrations feature drawings of animals with unexpected and surreal twists. For example, he imagines that Toucans’ big, colorful beaks grow on trees, and the bird simply picks them up once they fall to the ground.
In another illustration, he imagines Armadillo as an opossum who got himself armor.
In a recent chat with Metal Magazine, Andraka shared that there is no specific message he aims to convey with his surreal works, although he does enjoy learning how people interpret them.
“Many of the ideas are just something I thought was weird, unsettling or silly and wanted to share. I also enjoy seeing how different people interpret each piece. Some people resonate with specific animals or objects that carry on a meaning of their own,” Andraka explained.

]]>Segura creates beautiful paintings in which animals interact in the most wholesome way. Otters are swimming alongside starfish and sharks, elks are carrying birds on their antlers, and polar bears are part of the pack with flamingos, snakes, and rabbits.
Most of the time, Segura adorns the animals with fantasy elements. This, alongside meticulous attention to detail and warm colors, adds another layer of imagination to his works.
Segura explains on his website that his fascination with animals started during his childhood and never went away.
“With coloring pencils and felt-tip pens, I scribbled all over my dad’s books and the old encyclopedias which had belonged to his father (my grandfather), and which I now treasure since that’s where my fascination for the animal kingdom was born,” Segura explains.
Most of Segura’s works are made in the form of paintings that reside in private and public collections around the world. However, his art can also be found in murals in Spain, the US, Costa Rica, and several other countries.

Through his illustrations, this talented artist shows Ojisan Panda facing all sorts of situations and struggles that most of us face on a daily basis. It can be anything from lack of sleep to being conscious about putting on a few pounds.
“Ojisan Panda, a middle-aged panda who struggles with waking up in the morning, frequently experiences insomnia, and have overweight and other common issues just like you and me. If you are someone like Ojisan Panda, you are not alone,” Chua shared in a recent post on Bored Panda.
Ojisan Panda is also featured in Chua’s other works, some of which are much more cheerful. This includes the character putting on various costumes, including Fin from Adventure Time, Majin Buu from Dragonball Z, and many more.

]]>According to Reed, she started getting interested in embroidery after taking a Textile Art course in school. She picked up some basic techniques but opted not to pursue it further as she was more interested in drawing and painting. It was only after she finished university that she found a way back to embroidery.
After picking up needles and threads once again, Reed discovered it to be a therapeutic practice and started practicing it more frequently. Then in 2018, she created an embroidery pet portrait as a Christmas gift for a friend and realized that she has a real knack for this type of art. It wasn’t long before she decided to pursue embroidery as a full-time career, creating a successful business that helps people all around the world to express love for their pets in a unique way.
Reed is also attempting to get more people involved in embroidery, believing everyone can do it with some work and patience.
“I truly believe that everybody has the ability to create something amazing with a little patience, and I want more people to believe that too,” says Reed on her official website.

Unfortunately for Soares, he only got the plush elephant toy. It turned out that he couldn’t keep the furry prize he won because it was actually the resident cat who likes to take naps in claw machines. His name is Garfield, and this wasn’t the first time that the feline tricked arcade players into thinking they got a real-life cat.
Soares enjoyed the experience regardless and later told The Dodo that the cat was the best thing he had ever won on claw machines.
“He’s the best thing I’ve ever received [playing these games],” Soares shared. “Who could imagine getting a real plush animal in such a machine?”

]]>Simba’s owner recently posted a video of the dog playing a percussion instrument called glockenspiel. The dog can be seen hitting the instrument’s bars with a mallet placed in his mouth and getting really energetic about it.
“Simba is an enthusiastic percussionist,” Simba’s owner captioned the video, which was viewed 2.6 million times in just a couple of days.
As it turns out, glockenspiel isn’t the only instrument this talented dog can play. After the original video went viral, his owner posted a follow-up clip in which Simba can be seen playing a bongo drum with his paws. And it’s actually an even more impressive sight if you ask us.

]]>Mo Mountain Mutts operates in Skagway, Alaska, but its founder Mo Thompson never expected it to become this huge. Mo was initially just walking her friend’s dog during her lunch breaks, but it didn’t take too long for the word to spread around and many local teachers asked for her help.
After some time, Mo was taking care of so many dogs that she had to ask her husband Lee to jump in. They separated the dogs into two packs, based on personality, and eventually decided to buy a bus from a local business that could fit them all.
Before taking the pups for a walk, they pick them up with their bus from different locations. Each comes with a seatbelt, and the dogs are well-trained so they have no trouble sitting down and enjoying the ride. The videos of dogs boarding the bus became a viral sensation on TikTok, and one of them crossed 50 million views.

]]>The Kiffness is known among social media users for his ability to take random sounds and incorporate them into songs. He recently discovered a video of a noisy cat someone posted on Instagram and decided that the feline is a worthy feature for his next project.
Scott detailed his creative process in a viral YouTube video, which gained more than half a million views in less than two weeks. The clip shows Scott demonstrating nine steps through which everyone can create a song with a noisy cat next door.
He first recreated the beat from Toto’s hit track “Africa” before adding bass and keys to the track. He then “translated the cat’s message” and put himself in “her shoes” in order to really get to the essence of her noisy solos. After a few more touches, the song was ready and even got released on streaming platforms.
