“There is a recurring theme to my work,” she remarked once, in an interview with Frankie, “usually scenes of domesticity and comfort. I love the variety of subjects that my professional clients bring to me, but for personal work I always go back to the same quiet scenes.”

Indeed, her illustrations seem to focus on interior designs, and how we interact with them. There’s a lot of clashing textures and patterns, but also a lot of house plants, making her scenes a rather accurate representation of modern-day living.

Rea didn’t start out as a chef – he used to be a film editor, though he was always a foodie. Three years ago he decided to try something new and made his first episode in the series Binging With Babish: recreating the burgers from Parks and Rec‘s burger cookoff. His goal, as he put it, what to see what realize “what does the food in film and television actually taste like.”

Rea set some ground rules for his channels: first, the focus is on the food and not him. You’ll rarely see his face inside the frame. Second, the goals is to recreate TV food in real time and see what it’s like. Sometimes, the results are disappointing, and sometimes Andrew messes up. But that’s part of the process, and we get to see the mostly hilarious cooking disasters as well as the successes.

Bingin With Babish‘s quirky premise and unique style has gained the show a huge following. The channel has over 5 million subscribers. This had allowed Rea to go on YouTube full time and create spinoffs of his show, such as Basics With Babish where he teaches cooking basics, and Being With Babish, where he gives back to his most loyal fans.

Kuran has been mastering this skill for the last five and a half years in her home studio. During the last year, she had her first solo exhibition, and she has been searching for new ways to present her work and to make more contemporary pieces. She says she likes art that has structure and depth, because it draws the viewer in, and has a hypnotic effect. 

All the pieces Kuran makes are unique, made completely by her hand out of paper strips which she folds, cuts, glues, rolls and so on. She says she is inspired by works of Banksy, Ai Weiwei, Andy Warhol’s pop art and the magnificent color works by David Hockney. During the last five years, she has been pleased to commission great gifts to some international guests and celebrities such as some Hollywood legends, Stephen Harper, Goldie Hawn or Dr Susan Alberti as well as some political figures.

Laetitia Ky is 22-year-old girl from the Ivory Coast and she uses her hair as a medium to express her ideas and beliefs. 

She makes animals, random objects and everyday items using needles, wire, wool and hair extensions.  

Proud of her African heritage, she makes sure that she shows it in her art on her famous Instagram page. When you look at her pictures it’s not just the amazing work she does with her hair, but also her clothes, her make-up and the background.  

Every single art piece takes anywhere from twenty minutes to two hours to make and the entire piece takes well over those numbers.

In the spirit of celebration, Japanese people took these beautiful trees to the next level and built the largest cherry blossom tree made entirely of Lego bricks. The tree was originally designed in the Czech Republic and then shipped to Legoland Japan in Nagoya, where it was assembled. It was also meant to celebrate the theme park’s first anniversary.  

It took over 6,500 hours of work to finish it and exactly 881,470 Lego bricks were needed to pull this off. Over 14 feet tall and almost five feet wide, the tree has been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the ‘largest Lego brick cherry blossom tree.'” 

This pretty Lego structure features a grassy green base, a canopy with thousands of flowers, and Lego working lanterns that glitter at night. Check it out below!
