Five years later, the iconic work of conceptional art known as Comedian made headlines again after selling at auction for a mind-blowing $6.2 million.

Comedian is the work of the Italian conceptional artist Maurizio Cattelan, and it became quite a sensation following its first display in 2019. After sparking a heated debate about the meaning of art in the modern world, the installation traveled around the globe – along with the instruction for the banana to be replaced after it rots.

Two editions of this artwork sold for $120,000 each at Art Basel Miami Beach, while the third was donated to the Guggenheim Museum, but it turns out that was just the beginning. One of the original bananas was on display during a recent auction at Sotheby’s in New York, where it fetched $6.2 million.

The Chinese cryptocurrency entrepreneur Justin Sun outbid six rivals to buy the artwork, and he claims he’s planning to eat it as part of this unique artistic experience.

“This is not just an artwork; it represents a cultural phenomenon that bridges the worlds of art, memes, and the cryptocurrency community. I believe this piece will inspire more thought and discussion in the future and will become a part of history,” wrote Sun on X (formerly known as Twitter).

]]> Etienne Constable, a homeowner from Seaside, California, recently received a request from officials to hide the boat he parked in the driveway of his house behind a fence. Otherwise, he would face a $100 fine. Constable decided to comply in a genius way.

Constable built a fence and then hired his neighbor, artist Hanif Wondir, to paint a mural over it. The mural shows what’s hidden behind the fence to the slightest detail.

“After reluctantly building the fence and driveway, he presented a sassy idea to me that would require my artistic skills,” Wondir wrote in a caption of a painted fence posted on Instagram. “A painting of a boat in a driveway next to a house on a fence in front of a boat in a driveway next to a house!”

According to USA Today, the city officials were not agitated by Constable’s creative approach and instead praised the homeowner for a solution that “not only addresses compliance but also showcases a community-driven solution.”

Wondir’s mural ended up generating a lot of attention from passersby while also becoming viral on social media and generating headlines in media outlets.

The artist later shared a timelapse video showing the mural being made.

]]> Funerals are usually sad affairs that include lots of tears and grief. But one grandma from Breckenridge, Texas, decided she wanted her family and friends to have a few laughs at her funeral as well. And she managed to achieve that in the most genius way possible.

Knowing her time was getting near, Jodie Marie Perryman made arrangements that everyone who attended her funeral receives a special gift: an Ouija board. This way, if they missed her, they could contact her.

The photo of the gift was shared by Perryman’s granddaughter Gracie on Twitter and quickly became viral for both the idea behind it and the execution. Besides the Ouija board, the funny grandma also added the message “Let’s stay in touch” and a goofy photo of herself holding up two middle fingers.

As it turns out, these kinds of pranks were nothing new for Perryman. In a recent chat with Today, Gracie said that her grandmother always had a great sense of humor.

“She was hilarious. She had a great sense of humor and a huge heart,” Gracie said. “She loved her family. And she just took care of people around her. She was a great woman.”

Of course, Gracie tried to contact her grandma through the Ouija board but didn’t get a response. Yet …

“It’s just paper,” she concluded. “We tried but to no avail.”

]]> Star Wars-inspired pastry and baking goods are nothing new. You’ve probably had a slice of Millennium Falcon cake or an R2-D2-shaped cookie at one point in your life. However, bread sculptures of Star Wars characters are something we don’t have a chance to see every day.

California-based One House Bakery recently presented a unique bread sculpture of Star Wars’ Han Solo. Named “Pan Solo” and created by mom and daughter baker duo Catherine and Hannalee Pervan, the sculpture captures The Empire Strikes Back scene in which Han Solo is frozen in carbonite.

According to Catherine and Hannalee, they used wood as a base for the piece and two types of dough in order to capture all the details and make the bread last longer. The duo needed weeks to get the sculpture done, and it became a passion project for them. 

“Mom made me leave it because I was obsessing over the lips,” Hannalee shared with the New York Times. “She was like, ‘You need to walk away.’ “

The hard work definitely paid off, as the sculpture caught the attention of Star Wars fans and helped One House Bakery to attract more business. Pan Solo is currently displayed in front of the bakery, where everyone can check it out while waiting on their bagels. It is also competing in the annual Scarecrow Contest organized by Catherine and Hannalee’s hometown of Benicia.

]]> Dancing is considered an acquired skill, but there is no doubt that some people have more talent to move in the rhythm of music than others. As it turns out, this talent can be passed on from parents to kids. The daughter and father duo, Rinka and Mitsuhiro, are a great example of that.

Rinka and Mitsuhiro from Hachinohe, Japan, regularly wow social media users with the impressive dance moves they showcase in viral Instagram videos. The two dance to the tunes of hip hop music, with their dance style being an intriguing mixture of Litefeet, which originated in Harlem, New York City, in the early 2000s, and standard hip hop dance.

Despite being unique in what they do, the daughter and father, which have won numerous awards in dance competitions, are not keeping their dance secrets to themselves. Mitsuhiro runs a successful dance academy called One Move Dance Studio, where both he and Rinka work as instructors.

If you want to dance like the two, you can drop by the academy the next time you are in Hachinohe. Or, you can simply watch more of their amazing videos and try to copy their cool moves. Who knows, maybe you discover that you have a talent for dancing that you didn’t know was there.

]]> Demetres Giannitsos and Ika Wong are a hilarious YouTube couple people love to watch. The two met on reality show Big Brother Canada 5 back in 2017 and have been together ever since. Their YouTube career began one year later with a Q&A video. Three years later, they have reached more than 36 million views.

Their content is funny and enjoyable. The celebrity couple post videos about their lives, talk about their relationship, do challenges, reactions and pranks. Dem and Ika are currently living in Toronto, Canada in their newly bought home.

According to the comments posted on their videos, viewers are all about Ika’s altitude. Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Ika is funny, dresses well, and likes to dance… But when Dem or her firstborn son Rashaud does something “ugly”, she shows her “claws”.

According to USA Today, the city officials were not agitated by Constable’s creative approach and instead praised the homeowner for a solution that “not only addresses compliance but also showcases a community-driven solution.”

Wondir’s mural ended up generating a lot of attention from passersby while also becoming viral on social media and generating headlines in media outlets.

The artist later shared a timelapse video showing the mural being made.

]]> Funerals are usually sad affairs that include lots of tears and grief. But one grandma from Breckenridge, Texas, decided she wanted her family and friends to have a few laughs at her funeral as well. And she managed to achieve that in the most genius way possible.

Knowing her time was getting near, Jodie Marie Perryman made arrangements that everyone who attended her funeral receives a special gift: an Ouija board. This way, if they missed her, they could contact her.

The photo of the gift was shared by Perryman’s granddaughter Gracie on Twitter and quickly became viral for both the idea behind it and the execution. Besides the Ouija board, the funny grandma also added the message “Let’s stay in touch” and a goofy photo of herself holding up two middle fingers.

As it turns out, these kinds of pranks were nothing new for Perryman. In a recent chat with Today, Gracie said that her grandmother always had a great sense of humor.

“She was hilarious. She had a great sense of humor and a huge heart,” Gracie said. “She loved her family. And she just took care of people around her. She was a great woman.”

Of course, Gracie tried to contact her grandma through the Ouija board but didn’t get a response. Yet …

“It’s just paper,” she concluded. “We tried but to no avail.”

]]> Star Wars-inspired pastry and baking goods are nothing new. You’ve probably had a slice of Millennium Falcon cake or an R2-D2-shaped cookie at one point in your life. However, bread sculptures of Star Wars characters are something we don’t have a chance to see every day.

California-based One House Bakery recently presented a unique bread sculpture of Star Wars’ Han Solo. Named “Pan Solo” and created by mom and daughter baker duo Catherine and Hannalee Pervan, the sculpture captures The Empire Strikes Back scene in which Han Solo is frozen in carbonite.

According to Catherine and Hannalee, they used wood as a base for the piece and two types of dough in order to capture all the details and make the bread last longer. The duo needed weeks to get the sculpture done, and it became a passion project for them. 

“Mom made me leave it because I was obsessing over the lips,” Hannalee shared with the New York Times. “She was like, ‘You need to walk away.’ “

The hard work definitely paid off, as the sculpture caught the attention of Star Wars fans and helped One House Bakery to attract more business. Pan Solo is currently displayed in front of the bakery, where everyone can check it out while waiting on their bagels. It is also competing in the annual Scarecrow Contest organized by Catherine and Hannalee’s hometown of Benicia.

]]> Dancing is considered an acquired skill, but there is no doubt that some people have more talent to move in the rhythm of music than others. As it turns out, this talent can be passed on from parents to kids. The daughter and father duo, Rinka and Mitsuhiro, are a great example of that.

Rinka and Mitsuhiro from Hachinohe, Japan, regularly wow social media users with the impressive dance moves they showcase in viral Instagram videos. The two dance to the tunes of hip hop music, with their dance style being an intriguing mixture of Litefeet, which originated in Harlem, New York City, in the early 2000s, and standard hip hop dance.

Despite being unique in what they do, the daughter and father, which have won numerous awards in dance competitions, are not keeping their dance secrets to themselves. Mitsuhiro runs a successful dance academy called One Move Dance Studio, where both he and Rinka work as instructors.

If you want to dance like the two, you can drop by the academy the next time you are in Hachinohe. Or, you can simply watch more of their amazing videos and try to copy their cool moves. Who knows, maybe you discover that you have a talent for dancing that you didn’t know was there.

]]> Demetres Giannitsos and Ika Wong are a hilarious YouTube couple people love to watch. The two met on reality show Big Brother Canada 5 back in 2017 and have been together ever since. Their YouTube career began one year later with a Q&A video. Three years later, they have reached more than 36 million views.

Their content is funny and enjoyable. The celebrity couple post videos about their lives, talk about their relationship, do challenges, reactions and pranks. Dem and Ika are currently living in Toronto, Canada in their newly bought home.

According to the comments posted on their videos, viewers are all about Ika’s altitude. Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Ika is funny, dresses well, and likes to dance… But when Dem or her firstborn son Rashaud does something “ugly”, she shows her “claws”. 

The fun couple has recently traveled to Greece, to Dem’s homeland, and Ika was firing back with a hilarious prank that broke her partner’s heart. She convinced him that she was fed up with Greece and wants to get back home. And his reaction was more than funny.

In their last video, they took a pregnancy test on camera, only to find out that they were not pregnant. They had mixed emotions about the news.
