Humans Live Among Giant Animals in Monokubo’s Magical Illustrations

Have you ever wondered what would the world look like if animals and people switched places and animals were bigger than us? Well, a 24-year-old artist from Japan named Monokubo imagined this scenario and she’s been illustrating this world in a series of breathtaking illustrations.

Monokubo’s artwork features adorable giant animals such as cats, foxes, bears, dogs, and koalas, peacefully coexisting with people in her fantasy world. The idea for these illustrations came after watching Studio Ghibli’s anime movies such as Princess Mononoke and Totoro.

The animals included in her illustrations though are those that she likes in real life. Her favorites are cats, which you’ll definitely notice in her artwork.

“In most cases, I choose the animals that have left an impression in my daily life. I have a cat and he is very cute,” the artist told My Modern Met.

Check out Monokubo’s illustrations in the photos below and take a journey to her magical world of adorable, furry giants.
