Did you ever wonder about the doors vs. wheels ratio on planet Earth? Neither have we, but one man from New Zealand did, and his curiosity sparked one of the most heated debates on Twitter in recent memory.

Last week, Twitter user Ryan Nixon was talking with his friends on a group chat, and one of them mentioned “are there more doors or wheels in the world?” debate he heard about recently. After debating with his friends for a while, Nixon decided to ask his Twitter followers to vote between the two options. And all hell broke loose.

The debate turned out to be much fiercer than anyone could predict. The pool Nixon posted went viral on social media, and people from around the world joined in to share their opinion by voting and posting comments. Even celebrities, TikTok stars, and YouTubers were getting involved.

In just over a week since it was posted, Nixon’s pool received 220K votes. According to the internet forum, there is a clear winner, although it might be closer than you would assume. Currently, the wheels are in front with 53.6 percent of the votes, while the doors received 46.4 percent.

The results of the pool, of course, don’t give us the definitive answer, and we will never have one. However, it did help some people settle their curiosity, including Nixon himself.

“Initially I thought doors, but after doing a bit of critical thinking and reading some of the comments that came through, I’m now firmly team wheels,” Nixon shared with The Project.
