By pressing flowers, we are able to preserve their beauty and admire them for longer. One couple from Denver, Colorado, decided to take this traditional technique and give it a modern spin by creating beautiful pressed flower art.

During the pandemic, Rachel Parri and Keith Kralik found themselves spending much time in their garden. They grew some beautiful flowers as a result and came to the idea to start pressing them and placing them in frames.

Being satisfied with the way their pressed flower artworks turned out, Parri and Kralik continued making more and sharing them on social media. They also started Flower Press Studio, through which people can purchase their works.

“Flower Press Studio allows us to get outside in the garden and get more involved with a local community of makers, florists, and flower farmers to express our authenticity using organic materials grown from our mother earth,” the couple shares on their website.

Flower Press Studio recently started expanding its business in order to offer people more ways to enjoy their pressed flower art. They are developing online courses in order to share their knowledge with others while also creating limited prints of the artworks. Continue scrolling to see more of them.

Olga Prinku’s embroideries aren’t like anything we’ve ever seen. Using dried flowers instead of thread, she creates what is sometimes referred to as “botanical embroidery”—an altogether original technique of embroidery that Prinku teaches through classes and tutorials.

Her materials include flowers she collects and dries herself and more exotic specimens that are dried in advance. Those are threaded on tulle, arranged in pretty patterns and shapes. “A lot of my ideas come from going for walks in the countryside near where I live, or things I grow in the garden,” Prinku shared in an interview with The Italian Rêve, describing her creative process.

“I love working with the seasons,” she adds, “so whatever is in season is my favorite at that moment!” She admits she’s mostly drawn to pastel shades, though other colors are also peeking through.

“Some flowers are better than others for particular purposes,” explains Prinku. “For example, for floral embroidery hoops you want flowers with thin stalks and without particularly big heads. I’ve recently discovered you can dry small poppies and they seem to work well. Whereas for wreaths I like to use things like eucalyptus and olive, and I’ve started trying hydrangeas and peonies.”

We highly recommend you follow her original work on Instagram.

New Zealand artist, Fleur Woods, creates intricate stitched paintings using fabric, gouache, and ultimately – embroidery. Creating from her studio gallery in the heart of rural Upper Moutere, and drawing inspiration from flora and nature, her process was learnt through trial and error.

Partly trained and partly self-taught, Woods has always loved textiles and threads. And through her crafty work, Woods claims she feels connected to generations of women before her.

“I think those women were so resilient. I feel like it’s an amazing, almost a feminist act,” she told Stuff Magazine. “Because making beautiful stitching, making something beautiful, was not necessary,”

“People started stitching to mend and to create clothing, but to add the beauty was a way of women saying; ‘We have skills and we can do something special. We can make beauty in otherwise very simple lives.”

What is the common point between sneakers and flowers? At first glance, not much, unless one considers the floral scent as a solution to the problems of smell. And yet, on his Instagram account, artist Mr. Flower Fantastic has fun combining his two passions — flowers and sneakers, into quite original creations. His favorite brand? Probably Nike, put in the spotlight with the reproduction of the latest pair of Nike Air Max 97 brought up to date by Serena Williams.

It was with this creation that he became known to the general public, and was able to exhibit his work in New York. After that, the artist launched more and more ambitious sneaker flower artworks, and the renderings are simply stunning. Check out some of his incredible flower sneakers below.

Talented Japanese artist Hanaco Hanasakura rescues fallen petals of flowers, plants and trees and integrates them in her illustrations. Hanaco regularly posts on her Instagram account sketches of models decorated with flower petal dresses. From a 30s dress to a short skirt or autumnal outfit, the young stylist is a master in the art of combining petals and fashion creations. She has also published a book of her most beautiful creations.

The idea of using petals as dresses alludes to the constant change of nature and its inevitable charm, but it is also a reminder of what the cycle of life is: a change in movement. The artist’s drawings are a portrait of the ever-changing modern woman. In each one can be observed a cheerful girl, free of any prejudice and dedicated to the movement that the petals create.

Another detail that comes to light is that, depending on the flower, the personality of the model changes in the drawing, as well as its pose. In this way, Hanako warns us that the human being is as versatile as flowers. The visual garden that the artist creates from pencil and paper, not only portrays fashion trends, but also the desire to see women beyond as a beautiful being and make it as free as the petals of a flower, beyond a rose that It is only admired for its beauty.
