]]>“On a normal day, I’ll get into the studio, answer some emails and start digging into some old books,” Feighan shared with the Urban Outfitters blog, talking about his busy lifestyle. “I usually have 5-10 projects going at once so I’m always sourcing a lot of imagery. I’ll spend a lot of time cutting up paper and listening to records before I start to assemble any of the finished pieces. I’ll usually work on putting together a few at once.”
And much like his messy lifestyle, so are his collages. It’s a happy sort of mess, full of splendor and color. One collage features a vibrant landscape with huge blossoming flowers and cactuses towering above people and buildings; another one shows a buzzing highway that runs through what looks like a dense tropical island.
“I started making paper collage work when I began taking art classes in college,” he recalled. “But before that, I had been doing a lot of digital collage in high school, mostly for band merch.” Check out some of his vibrant collage art in the gallery below:

In her latest series, Thielker created illustrated interpretations of her favorite music albums. The illustrations look like quilts, giving a homely feel to the series. “The thought is to capture the music that inspires me while I create,” she explained on her Instagram page. “I feel like imagining up record art, being free, not overworking and not overthinking is going to be fun. It’s important to create art for yourself in between client work and I’m looking forward to sharing this with you all as I go.”

]]>The creative project of visual artist, performer, and singer/songwriter, Nosslo-Grebnellaw Aniluap, GREBNELLAW (in all caps) celebrates the weird. “It’s an ongoing creative process that uses pop music, visual art, and performative elements to address contemporary issues,” reads their website.
“It also acts as a liberating force from social pressure and prejudice with ad-hoc performances that happen in the moment. The performances are site-specific, uses the ‘three-minute-pop song’ format and a red and white color code to communicate an easily recognizable style.”
Their red and white outfits are indeed recognizable, making their performances something between a fashion show and a music clip. “I started out making music because it was always easy to find dancers but there was always problems finding musicians who wanted to play,” explained Nosslo-Grebnellaw Aniluap in an interview with Office magazine. “Then it gets a little bit more complicated than that because I’m also a visual artist and I wanted to create.”
“Really, I play God and I create these beings — I just want to have millions of them everywhere,” she admitted. “We are very far from that right now, but maybe the technology will help us somehow in the future.”
So far, GREBNELLAW has presented her work in the world’s most prestigious stages including Guggenheim Museum, MoMA, The Coliseum in Rome and Mejii Shrine in Tokyo. Next time Met Gala chooses “camp” as their theme, they should definitely consider inviting her.
