The Adventures of Troja in the Icy Forests of Norway

Dogs can be faithful companions, this is a confirmed fact. An excellent example is Troja – a red-haired Irish setter dog who has a real passion for travels and adventures in its blood. Troja’s owner, George Rotan is from Norway and publishes on Instagram quite extraordinary pictures of his pet made during their hikes together. We cannot decide who is more majestic: Troja or the icy forests it walks by.

4 years ago George started taking pictures with his phone during his trips. He says he posted mostly macro photographs of plants or insects; Troja was always accompanying him in his travels, but he did not think of the idea to take pictures of his pet yet. After he met people who raved about the looks of Troja, he really liked photographing it.

Now his Instagram profile has over 125,000 followers. George says his inspirations come from comments and private messages that he receives from people. Asked about the personality of Troja, he says every dog has its own “quirks”. “Troja, for example, puts his paw on my shoulder whenever he wants to attract attention,” he explains.

At the bottom of some of the photographs you can see deserted rails, whitewashed forests or beaches with stony sands. There are no more signs of human presence, apart from them both. At times, it seems Troja is the first to break through that territory.
