The Four Months in Paris That Changed Carin’s Life

Carin Olsson was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, but had always felt drawn to the romantic city of Paris.

In February 2012, she left her job, family, and friends, in order to spend four months in the enchanting City of Lights. She arrived there with the hopes of learning the French language – she couldn’t say much more than “bonjour” and “merci” when she first landed – but as she walked the city’s streets, wandering up mysterious alleyways and sitting at quiet street side cafés, she found herself falling in love with Paris in a way she’d never expected to before.

In January 2013, Carin returned to Paris, this time with the intention of staying. Her Instagram account started out as an attempt to document her original stay in Paris but has since evolved into something that is much more than that.

Today, she shares her photography and creative undertakings with nearly a million followers – and her passion for the city, its fashion, culture, and cuisine is truly inspiring.
